About Me: Lexi Rojahn

Current news.

My studio process.

My educational background is primarily in fine arts (painting, drawing, and sculpture & ceramics), but since finishing my Bachelor's Degree I have experimented and self-taught with a variety of fiber forms and techniques, including both wet and needle felting with wool and silk, shibori dyeing protein fibers, traditional sewing, and embroidery, to create a range of art and accessories. They are currently available for sale in my shop Fiber: art, alchemy, & adornment on Etsy.com and at The Artisans in McLean, Virginia.

Most recently I have trained as a web designer with experience in Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver after learning to code HTML and CSS from scratch. With completed coursework in eCommerce, internet marketing, and logo design, as well as responsive web design and Javascript plug-ins, I look forward to using both my artistic talent and technical skill to craft more beautiful and well organized, user-friendly web pages. You can find me at Paint to Pixel Press.

Inspired by botanical forms in nature, as well as well-worn items in muted tones and contrasting textures, you will often find me collecting nature's flotsam and jetsam; seed hulls, cicada wings, pieces of bark. I am especially drawn to natural variations of the one-of-a-kind seen in nature and hand made creations. Living on a farm in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia with cats, chickens, husband & child gives me ample opportunity to examine and appreciate the beauty in the natural world. Visit us all at Wingstem Farm.
